Conflict of Interest Policy
The International Journal of Creative Engineering and Emerging Technologies is committed to ensuring transparency, objectivity, and integrity in the scholarly publication process. This policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members to disclose and manage conflicts of interest that could influence the research, peer review, or editorial decision-making process.
1. Definition of Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning a primary interest, such as the validity of research or editorial impartiality, may be influenced by a secondary interest. Such interests may be financial, professional, personal, or institutional in nature.
2. Author Conflicts of Interest
Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission. These may include, but are not limited to:
-
Financial support, grants, or sponsorship related to the research
-
Employment, consultancy, or advisory relationships
-
Ownership of patents, shares, or intellectual property related to the work
-
Personal, academic, or institutional relationships that may influence the research outcomes
If no conflicts of interest exist, authors must explicitly declare that there are no conflicts of interest.
3. Reviewer Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting a manuscript for review. Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts where conflicts exist, including:
-
Recent collaboration with the author(s)
-
Institutional affiliation with the author(s)
-
Financial or professional interest in the research topic or outcomes
Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and objectivity throughout the review process.
4. Editorial Conflicts of Interest
Editors and editorial board members must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. Such manuscripts will be reassigned to another qualified editor to ensure an unbiased and independent review process.
5. Disclosure and Management
All disclosed conflicts of interest are reviewed by the editorial office. Where necessary, appropriate measures are taken to manage conflicts in a transparent manner. Relevant disclosures may be published alongside the article to inform readers.
6. Failure to Disclose
Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest may result in editorial action, including rejection of the manuscript, publication of a correction, or retraction of the article, depending on the severity of the omission.
7. Ongoing Responsibility
All parties involved in the publication process have a continuing obligation to disclose any conflicts of interest that arise during the editorial or review process.
Statement of Commitment
The International Journal of Creative Engineering and Emerging Technologies affirms its commitment to ethical publishing practices and to maintaining trust in the scholarly record through transparent disclosure and responsible management of conflicts of interest.
