The International Journal of Computer Engineering and Embedded Technologies welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts from researchers, academicians, and industry professionals working in computer engineering and embedded systems. These guidelines set out the requirements authors must follow when preparing and submitting a manuscript, in accordance with the standards expected by international abstracting and indexing bodies, including Scopus and Web of Science.
Scope of Submissions
Authors should ensure that their manuscript falls within the journal's Aim & Scope prior to submission. Manuscripts addressing topics outside computer engineering and embedded technologies will not be considered for review.
Manuscript Types
The journal accepts original research articles reporting new, unpublished findings; review articles providing a critical and comprehensive analysis of an established area of research; and technical case studies describing the design, implementation, or evaluation of a specific system or application within the journal's scope.
Manuscript Preparation
All manuscripts must be prepared using the journal's official Manuscript Template, and must follow the formatting requirements specified within it, including Times New Roman font, standard margins, IEEE citation style, and the required section structure (Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Related Work, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Declarations, and References). Manuscripts that do not follow the required template may be returned to the author prior to editorial evaluation.
Manuscript Length
Manuscripts should typically be between 6 and 12 pages in length, inclusive of figures, tables, and references. Manuscripts significantly outside this range should be justified in the cover letter.
Title Page Requirements
The title page must include the full manuscript title, the complete names and affiliations of all authors, and the email address of the corresponding author. Titles should be concise, specific, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
Blinded Manuscript for Review
Since the journal follows a double-blind peer review process, authors must submit a blinded version of the manuscript for review, with all author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and any other identifying information removed from the body of the manuscript. The identifying title page is submitted as a separate file.
Abstract and Keywords
The abstract must be a single paragraph of 150–250 words, clearly stating the purpose, methodology, key results, and conclusion of the study, without citations or undefined abbreviations. Between 4 and 6 keywords, listed alphabetically and separated by semicolons, must be provided immediately following the abstract.
Figures, Tables, and Equations
All figures and tables must be numbered sequentially, referenced in the text before they appear, and captioned according to the journal's formatting requirements (figure captions below the figure, table captions above the table). Figures must be of sufficient resolution for clear print and digital reproduction. Equations must be numbered sequentially in parentheses and referenced accordingly in the text.
References
All references must follow IEEE numeric citation style, cited in the text using numbers in square brackets (e.g., [1], [2]) in the order in which they first appear. Only sources cited within the manuscript should be included in the reference list. Authors are encouraged to prioritize recent, peer-reviewed journal sources over web-based or non-peer-reviewed sources.
Originality and Plagiarism
Manuscripts must represent entirely original work and must not be under consideration by any other journal at the time of submission. All submissions are screened using plagiarism-detection software prior to peer review, in accordance with the journal's Plagiarism Policy. Manuscripts exceeding the journal's acceptable similarity threshold will be returned or rejected.
Authorship
All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the work, and must have approved the final manuscript and its submission. Any change to authorship after submission must be formally requested and approved by all authors.
Required Declarations
Every manuscript must include a Conflict of Interest statement, a Funding statement disclosing all sources of financial support, and, where applicable, a statement confirming Ethical Approval for research involving human participants, animal subjects, or sensitive data, consistent with the journal's Conflict of Interest Policy and Publication Ethics page.
Cover Letter
Authors should submit a brief cover letter along with their manuscript, confirming that the work is original and not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere, briefly stating the significance and novelty of the contribution, and confirming that all authors have approved the submission.
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's online submission system in Microsoft Word (.docx) format. Submissions in PDF or other formats will not be accepted for review. Authors will receive an acknowledgment of receipt upon successful submission.
Peer Review
All submissions that pass initial editorial screening are subject to the journal's double-blind Peer Review Process, involving evaluation by a minimum of two independent subject-matter experts. Full details of the review stages and expected timelines are set out in the journal's Peer Review Policy.
Revisions
Authors requested to revise their manuscript must submit the revised version along with a point-by-point response addressing each reviewer comment, within the timeframe specified by the editorial office.
Article Processing Charges
The journal does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APC) or submission fees, as set out in the journal's Fee Policy.
Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance, authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, as detailed in the journal's Copyright & Licensing Policy.
Post-Acceptance
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and typesetting. Authors are provided with a final proof for review prior to formal publication and are asked to respond to proof queries promptly to avoid delays in publication.
