Data Availability and Research Integrity Policy

The International Journal of Computer Engineering and Embedded Technologies is committed to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in the research it publishes. This policy has been established in accordance with the standards expected by international abstracting and indexing bodies, including Scopus and Web of Science, and reflects widely recognized principles of open and responsible research practice.

Purpose of This Policy

Transparent reporting of the data, methods, and materials underlying published research strengthens the reliability of the scholarly record and enables verification and reproducibility by other researchers in the field of computer engineering and embedded technologies. This policy sets out the journal's expectations for authors regarding data availability, and its broader commitment to research integrity.

Data Availability Statement

Authors are required to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript, indicating where the data supporting the results reported in the article can be found. This statement should specify whether the data is publicly available in a repository, and if so, provide the repository name and accession details or persistent identifier; available within the article itself or its supplementary materials; available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, with any applicable conditions or restrictions clearly stated; or not available, with a clear explanation of the reason, such as third-party ownership, privacy, ethical, or legal restrictions.

Data Sharing Encouraged

Authors are strongly encouraged to deposit datasets, source code, hardware design files, simulation models, and other research materials underlying their manuscript in a recognized public repository at the time of submission or publication, to support reproducibility and to maximize the visibility and citation potential of the underlying research materials.

Confidentiality and Legal Restrictions

Where data cannot be made publicly available due to confidentiality agreements, third-party ownership, participant privacy, proprietary industry data, or applicable legal or regulatory restrictions, authors must clearly state these restrictions in the Data Availability Statement, along with any conditions under which the data may be accessed.

Reproducibility of Reported Methods

Authors must provide sufficient detail regarding their methodology, system design, experimental setup, and parameters used, such that the reported work can, in principle, be reproduced or independently verified by other researchers. Manuscripts lacking sufficient methodological detail for reproducibility may be returned to the authors for clarification prior to peer review.

Research Integrity

The journal expects all submitted research to be conducted and reported with the highest standards of integrity. This includes accurate and honest reporting of data, methods, and results without fabrication, falsification, or selective omission of findings; proper attribution of prior work and avoidance of plagiarism, in accordance with the journal's Plagiarism Policy; appropriate authorship, reflecting genuine and significant contribution to the work, in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics page; and full disclosure of funding sources and conflicts of interest, in accordance with the journal's Conflict of Interest Policy.

Ethical Compliance in Research Involving Human or Animal Subjects

Where research involves human participants, animal subjects, or sensitive personal data, authors must confirm that the research was conducted in accordance with relevant institutional, national, or international ethical guidelines, and must include a statement of ethical approval and, where applicable, informed consent, within the manuscript's Declarations section.

Handling of Research Integrity Concerns

Any concern regarding the integrity of reported data, methods, or results, whether raised before or after publication, is investigated by the editorial board in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are given a fair opportunity to respond and provide clarification or supporting evidence before any formal editorial action is taken.

Outcomes of Confirmed Integrity Violations

Where a violation of research integrity is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate action in accordance with its Retraction, Correction, and Expression of Concern Policy, including publication of a correction, an expression of concern, or retraction of the article, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.

Author Responsibility

Authors bear primary responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the data and methods reported in their manuscript, and for ensuring that any data or materials shared publicly comply with applicable ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.
